Aoife MacEvilly currently serves as a Commissioner at Coimisiún na Meán since July 2024 and has held the position of Commissioner at the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) since October 2014, focusing on gas, consumer issues, and smart metering. Prior to these roles, Aoife MacEvilly was the Chairperson at DCENR from March 2011 to September 2014 and worked in the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources from April 2004 to March 2011, first as an Assistant Principal in Electricity and Gas Regulation and later as a Principal Officer for Oil Security and Energy Corporate Governance. Academic qualifications include an MSc in Leadership and Management Practice from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, a Professional Diploma in Regulatory Governance from University College Dublin, and a Bachelor of Arts in European Business Studies with German from the University of Ulster at Coleraine.
