Dougal Robinson

Treasury Representative, Papua New Guinea at Commonwealth Treasury

Dougal Robinson has extensive experience in policy and engagement, particularly in the areas of foreign investment, international security, and foreign policy. Dougal started their career as a Graduate and Policy Officer at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2015. Dougal then served as a Research Fellow and Non-Resident Fellow at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney from 2017 to 2020. In 2020, they joined the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as an Adviser in the International Division before becoming the Executive Officer for the Deputy Secretary International and Security. Currently, they are the Director of the Policy & Engagement Unit in the Foreign Investment Division at Commonwealth Treasury. Additionally, Dougal has also had various research and teaching roles in the field of international policy and foreign politics.

Dougal Robinson has a strong educational background in the field of government and international relations. Dougal completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney from 2010 to 2013. Later, from 2018 to 2019, they pursued a Masters degree at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), specializing in strategic studies, international economics, and Bahasa Indonesia.
