Christie Wilson

Deputy Director, Operations at Communities Foundation of Texas

Christie Wilson has a varied and extensive work experience. Christie began their career in 2011 as a Unit Leader/Counselor at Homes for the Homeless. From 2014 to 2017, they worked at Western Heights Public Schools as a Math Teacher, serving as a 6th grade team leader, math department head, and member of the school leadership team. During this time, they also held a role as an Instructional Leader at Loveworks Leadership, Inc., supporting leadership programs at Western Heights Public Schools.

In 2017, Christie joined Teach For America as a Secondary Math, Content Specialist, designing and facilitating professional development for math teachers. Christie later moved on to become a School Operations Specialist and supported the Loveworks Leadership program at Western Heights Public Schools.

In 2018, Christie took on the role of Manager, Program Continuum at Teach For America, where they created transformative experiences and collaborated with stakeholders to achieve outcomes. Christie also worked as an Assistant Head of Faculty-Mathematics at Oriel High School, providing support to trainee teachers and overseeing mathematical instruction.

Currently, Christie is employed at Communities Foundation of Texas, where they have held various positions since 2021. Christie started as an Associate, Programs, then became Deputy Director of Programs, and currently serves as Deputy Director of Operations.

Christie Wilson obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech between 2010 and 2014. Christie has also completed additional certifications, including Nonprofit Leadership Center Management Essentials Online Connection from The Allstate Foundation in March 2023, Introduction to Financial Accounting from Coursera in December 2022, and Introduction to Marketing from Coursera in August 2022.
