Tamara McKinney is a seasoned communications and nonprofit management professional with extensive experience in developing marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and trust. Currently serving as Communications Consultant and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona since March 2019, Tamara is responsible for implementing annual marketing plans that demonstrate the organization's value to various stakeholders. Previous roles include Executive Director of Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona, where strategic and operational activities were executed for a nonprofit focused on home-delivered meals for the homebound, and Director of Development at the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona, managing comprehensive fundraising programs. Tamara also directed the Reading Seed Children’s Literacy Program at Literacy Connects, and held various positions in community relations, grants monitoring, and program coordination. Tamara holds an M.B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and English/Creative Writing from the University of Arizona.
