David Chavis

David Chavis is a Senior Fellow and former Principal Associate/CEO of Community Science, previously known as the Association for the Study and Development of Community (ASDC), recognized internationally for expertise in community initiatives, evaluation, and support. Holding a Ph.D. in Community Psychology from Vanderbilt Peabody College, Chavis has extensive experience as President/CEO of ASDC, Director of Community Development at COSMOS Corp, and Associate Professor at Rutgers University, where courses in community organizing and group dynamics were taught. Chavis's commitment to building equitable communities is demonstrated through various leadership roles and education in community leadership and executive coaching.
