Community Servings
David Waters has a diverse range of work experience. David served as a Board Member for the Food is Medicine Coalition, starting in 2012. Prior to that, they were the CEO of Community Servings from 1996 onwards. David was also a Board Member for the Association of Nutrition Services Agencies from 1998 to 2012. Before transitioning into the nonprofit sector, David held various managerial roles, including General Manager at Upstairs at the Pudding and Event Manager at Seasoned to Taste Catering. David also worked as a House Manager for the American Repertory Theatre from 1982 to 1986.
David Waters has a strong education history. David started their educational journey in 1977 at Middlebury College, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, which they completed in 1981. After their undergraduate studies, they furthered their education by attending the Bread Loaf School of English from 1982 to 1988, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in English. During this time, they also attended Middlebury College again from 1985 to 1988, earning another Master of Arts degree, but this time in Dramatic Literature. In 1987, they briefly attended Boston University and completed a Master of Arts degree in Creative Writing in the same year. Overall, David Waters has a diverse educational background with a focus on English, literature, and writing.
Community Servings
Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program providing services throughout Massachusetts to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses, like HIV/AIDS, Cancer, MS, Lou Gehrig’s disease and more than 30 others. We provide our clients, and their dependent families and caregivers with nutritious, made-from-scratch meals and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares. Our goals are to help our clients maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through free, culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.
