Kourtni Marshall has worked in various roles since 1998. Her most recent work was as Cofounder & Chief Technology Officer at COMMUNITYx, a platform for connecting people to real world impact in the areas that they care about. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer Technical Lead at Google from 2012-2020, where they designed, implemented, and launched various GCP based solutions that have impacted the entire company. Kourtni also held roles such as Black Googler Network (BGN) Global Co-Chair and Black Googler Network (BGN) Transform Technology Global Pillar Lead. Before Google, they worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at Red Hat in 2011, as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Loyola University Chicago in 2010, as an Adult Education Computer Instructor as an independent contractor in 2010, as a Graduate Program Assistant at Loyola University Chicago in 2009, as a Test Engineer Intern at WMS Gaming in 2008, as an Operations Coordinator at Builderfinish, LLC. in 2007, and as a Project Manager at JMTA, Inc. in 2005. Her first job was as an Assistant Audio Engineer at The Hit Factory in 1998.
Kourtni Marshall has a diverse educational background. Kourtni obtained a High School Diploma from Lincoln Park High School in General Studies. Kourtni then attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for Kinesiology, Full Sail University for a Recording Arts degree, and Loyola University Chicago where they earned both a B.S. in Computer Science in 2009 and an M.S. in Computer Science in 2010. Marshall has also obtained several certifications, including a Go: The Complete Developer's Guide (Golang) from Udemy in 2018, FP101x: Introduction to Functional Programming from edX in 2016, and Google Cloud Storage Qualified Developer and Google App Engine Qualified Developer from Google in 2013.
