Dr. Dietmar Ehrlichmann

Dr. Dietmar Ehrlichmann has extensive work experience in the field of lighting systems. Dr. Dietmar is currently serving as the Head of Engineering Excellence & Efficiency at Plastic Omnium Lighting Systems since January 2023. Previously, they held the role of Head of R&D Operations at Plastic Omnium Lighting from October 2021 to June 2022 and from July to December 2022.

Before joining Plastic Omnium, Dr. Ehrlichmann was the Global Head of R&D Light Modules at OSRAM Continental from July 2018 to September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at OSRAM as the Global Head of R&D for LED and LASER based light modules for automotive from October 2014 to June 2018, and as the Global Head of Development from July 2012 to September 2014.

Dr. Dietmar has also held leadership positions at Sunny World Ltd, where they served as the VP Technique of Joint Venture in China from September 2009 to June 2012.

Dr. Ehrlichmann began their career at OSRAM in 1996 as a Development Engineer, where they played a key role in introducing new high power UV lamps to the semiconductor industry. Dr. Dietmar later became the Engineering Director, pushing the limits of High Intensity Discharge lamps and the Senior Director of R&D, pioneering mercury-free automotive xenon systems.

Before joining OSRAM, they worked as a Scientific Staff at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, where they focused on optics development for industrial gas lasers from 1991 to 1995. Overall, Dr. Dietmar Ehrlichmann has gained a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of lighting systems throughout their career.

Dr. Dietmar Ehrlichmann received their doctoral degree in Physics (Dr. rer. nat.) from RWTH Aachen University in 1994. Dr. Dietmar also obtained a Certificate of Proficiency from the British Council in the same year.
