Richard Morphy

Richard Morphy has an extensive work experience in the field of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery. Richard is currently the Director of Medicinal Chemistry and Preformulation at COMPASS Pathways, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Drug Discovery Manager at Parkinson's UK from 2018 to 2022. From 2011 to 2018, they served as a Senior Research Advisor at Eli Lilly. Before that, they held various positions at Merck, including Director of Medicinal Chemistry from 2009 to 2011 and Director of Medicinal Chemistry from 2007 to 2009. Their career in medicinal chemistry started at Organon Laboratories Ltd, where they worked as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry from 1995 to 2007. Richard began their career at Celltech as a Principal Medicinal Chemist from 1989 to 1995.

Richard Morphy received their PhD in Organic Chemistry from Durham University between 1985 and 1988.
