Joseph Hughes Schafer

Joseph Hughes Schafer PhD serves as a Professor and Associate Dean at the National Defense University's College of Information & Cyberspace since 2016. Schafer holds multiple roles including Professor and Chair of cyber-related programs, Board Member for Compass Rose Benefits Group and SoundMind, and Executive Founding Member of the Digital Directors Network. Additional experience includes teaching adjunctly at The George Washington University and co-founding EnterSpire, which offers consulting services in cybersecurity and technology. Schafer's educational credentials include a PhD in Computer Science from The George Washington University, an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and an MA in National Security & Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, among others.
