Chris Connell has a wealth of experience in marketing and inside sales. In 2021, they began their role as Chief Marketing Officer at Compono, a fast-growing scale-up stage HR tech SaaS business. Chris is responsible for planning, developing, and executing the company's end-to-end growth marketing strategy and initiatives.

Prior to this, Chris was Senior Director of Marketing & Inside Sales (Asia-Pacific) at Cornerstone OnDemand from 2018-2021, where they designed, developed, and deployed integrated marketing programs across the Asia-Pacific region. Chris also led the marketing and inside sales teams, focusing on customer pain points and effective customer engagement.

From 2017-2018, Chris was Senior Director of Marketing (Asia-Pacific) at Marketo, an Adobe Company. Chris designed, developed, and deployed integrated marketing strategies and programs across the Asia-Pacific region, and championed marketing excellence.

From 2012-2017, Chris was Head of Marketing & Inside Sales (Asia-Pacific) at Basware, a B2B SaaS provider of accounting and procurement solutions. Chris was responsible for driving business growth and customer transformation initiatives.

In 2011, Chris co-founded Smart Business Plans, one of Australia's leading business planning consultancies. Chris designed the go-to-market strategy, market positioning, product development, website design, business launch, and marketing growth plan.

From 2006-2011, Chris was Senior Marketing Manager (Asia-Pacific) at CA Technologies, where they created and managed marketing programs for the Asia-Pacific & Japan region.

Prior to this, Chris was Senior Marketing Communications Manager at IBM from 2004-2006, and Campaign Manager at Commonwealth Bank of Australia from 2003-2004. Chris also worked as Senior Business Manager at Leo Burnett from 2003-2004, and Senior Account Manager at Lavender from 2002-2003.

Chris Connell has a long and varied educational history. Chris completed their high school education at St Pius X College from 1985 to 1992, earning their High School Certificate. Chris then obtained an Associate's Degree in Marketing from the Asia Pacific Technical College between 1996 and 1998. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Southern Cross University with a specialization in Management. Chris has also obtained additional certifications from the ADMA, TAFE, AMI, and Math Marketing.
