Matthew Hettlinger is a fermentation scientist at Compound Foods. Matthew was previously a senior cheese technologist at Miyoko's from September 2020 to November 2021. Prior to that, they were the creamery manager at Swan Valley Creamery from September 2019 to September 2020. Hettlinger began their career in the cheese industry as an intern at Canal Junction Farmstead Cheese from June 2011 to June 2012. Matthew then went on to become a cheesemaker/creamery manager at The Farm at Doe Run from August 2012 to September 2019.
Matthew Hettlinger completed their undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University, where they majored in food science. After graduation, they became certified as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual through the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA). Matthew also obtained certification as a Certified Food Safety HACCP Manager (CFSHM) through the National Environmental Health Association.
They are on a team with Natalia Robert Kissling - Creative Consultant, Swetha Mahadevan - Head of Product, and Michael Chen - Process Engineer. Their manager is Maricel Saenz, Founder & CEO.
