Matt Criado has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Matt started their career in 2006 as a Journeyman Field Mechanic at Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co, where they worked until 2014. In 2014, they worked as an R&D Test Engineer at ECHO Incorporated for a few months. From 2015 to 2021, they worked at CONSOL Energy as an Assistant Supervisor. In 2018, they joined 8D Technologies, a local startup focused on designing technology for space to improve the lives of the impoverished. Currently, they work as a Design Engineer at Concurrent Technologies Corporation, starting in November 2021.
Matt Criado has an extensive education history in the field of engineering. Matt attended the Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center from 1999 to 2000, where they earned a Certificate in Automotive Engineering Technology/Technician. Matt then went on to Westmoreland County Community College from 2002 to 2008, where they obtained their Associate's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics.
Building on their foundation, Criado joined the University of Pittsburgh in 2010 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 2013. Matt furthered their education at the same institution from 2015 to 2016, earning a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering.
Driven to expand their knowledge and expertise, Criado began a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, focusing on Mechanical Engineering. Matt is expected to complete their PhD in 2021, further cementing their educational journey in the engineering field.
