Danette McKellar

Danette Mckellar possesses extensive experience in education, currently serving as Dean of Students at Coney Island Prep since August 2016, where roles have included Special Education Teacher and Second Grade Teacher. Prior to this, Danette was a Second Year Americorps Member at City Year from August 2014 to June 2016, focusing on math support for eighth graders and facilitating after-school programs. Danette's earlier experience includes serving as Senior Counselor at Samuel Field YM/YWHA, where supervision and planning of activities for children were key responsibilities. Danette holds a Master of Arts in Childhood Education & Special Education from Relay Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Stony Brook University.
