William Hood has worked in the scientific field for over 40 years. In 2010, they began working as a Senior Research Scientist for Confluence Discovery Technologies. Prior to that, they worked as a Lab Technician at Washington University in the laboratory of Dr. D. F. from 1979.

William Hood obtained their Masters of Science in Pharmacology (CNS) from the University of Missouri in 1979 and their Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Premedical Science from the University of Missouri in 1975.
