Alun Darwood

Alun Darwood has extensive work experience in the finance and risk management sector. Alun was the Head of Client Consultants at Confluence since July 2022. Prior to that, Alun worked at StatPro, where they held multiple roles including Head of Services, Head of Risk, and Analytics Consultant from January 2016 to the present. Alun also has a significant background in risk consulting, having served as the Director & Senior Risk Consultant at Risk101 from August 2001 to November 2015. In this role, they were responsible for planning, developing, and implementing financial solutions for clients, with a focus on financial market risk, liquidity, compliance requirements, software development, and database design. Alun also provided general financial management and strategic direction as a director at Risk101.

Alun Darwood holds a diverse education background with degrees in different fields of study. Alun completed their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Cape Town from 1993 to 1996. Following this, they pursued their MBA in Business Administration from Stellenbosch University from 2000 to 2001. Later, from 2011 to 2015, they attended the University of Cape Town again and obtained their M.Com degree with a specialization in Financial and Risk Management.

Furthermore, Alun Darwood received a certification from CFA Institute in March 2023 for completing the online self-paced course on Performance Attribution.
