Gualtiero Chiaia has extensive experience in the field of quantitative analysis and development. Gualtiero began their career at Riskcare in 1999 as a Quantitative Developer, where they worked until 2001. Gualtiero then joined UBS in 2002 as a Quantitative Developer, and stayed with the company until 2004. Following their time at UBS, Gualtiero briefly worked at Barclays Investment Bank as a Quantitative Developer before joining Merril Lynch Inc as a Quantitative Developer contractor in 2004. In 2005, they returned to UBS as a Senior Quantitative Analyst, a position they held until 2017. After leaving UBS, Gualtiero worked at StatPro as a Quantitative Researcher from 2017 until 2019. In 2019, they joined Confluence as a Senior Quantitative Analyst. Gualtiero's most recent experience is at UBS, where they started in 2023 as a Senior Quantitative Analyst.
Gualtiero Chiaia's education history consists of four institutions attended at different times. Gualtiero started their education journey at Liceo classico Scipione Maffei from 1977 to 1982, where they studied Humanities/Humanistic Studies. After completing high school, they pursued a Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Milano from 1982 to 1989, focusing on Physics. Following this, they attended Politecnico di Milano again, this time pursuing a Dottorato di ricerca in fisica sperimentale (PhD) from 1990 to 1993. Their research during this period centered around material Science, Superconductivity, Electronic structure, and photolelectron spectroscopy. Finally, in 1998 and 1999, Chiaia studied at The University of Edinburgh, where they obtained an MSc in Financial Mathematics with a specific focus on Financial derivatives.
