Amber Ife Dowtin

Director, Strategic Events at Congressional Black Caucus Foundation

Amber Ife Dowtin has a diverse work experience in event planning and coordination. Amber Ife started their career as an Administrative Temp at Aspen Personnel in 2004 and then worked as an HR Specialist at Aspen Group @ Amtrak HR in 2005. Amber Ife later joined American University as a Staff Assistant, where they supervised a team and was responsible for customer service. In 2011, they worked as a Project Manager for Running Start, specifically for the 2011 Women to Watch Awards. Amber Ife then transitioned to Bowie State University as a Development Associate, where they implemented and maintained systems for donor prospect research. In 2012, they joined the University of Maryland as an Event Services Coordinator, managing all aspects of event services coordination. Amber Ife then became a Freelance Event Consultant in 2008, providing event planning and management services to various clients. In 2016, they joined The Tower Companies as an Events Coordinator, responsible for creating a sense of community through social programming. In 2019, they joined the University of Maryland Global Campus as a Senior Event Planner, coordinating various events and activities. Currently, they are working as a Senior Manager of Strategic Events at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, where they provide event logistics expertise and facilitates programmatic content for live and virtual events.

Amber Ife Dowtin obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising - Creative from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2005. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained certifications in Hybrid & Virtual Event Director from the Event Leadership Institute in December 2022, and in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021.
