Silvia Ruelas

Vice President at Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA)

Silvia Ruelas has a diverse work experience in the political and legislative field. Silvia began their career as a Staff Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2019, where they worked until January 2021. During this time, they also took on the role of Legislative Aide from January to July 2021 and then transitioned to become a Legislative Assistant from July 2021 to July 2023. Starting in July 2023, Silvia became a Senior Legislative Assistant in the same organization.

In addition to their work in the U.S. House of Representatives, Silvia also held positions in several professional organizations. Silvia served as the Secretary for the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association from February 2021 to March 2022 and later became the Vice President of the organization in March 2023. Silvia also worked as the Diversity and Inclusion Program Coordinator for the Women's Congressional Staff Association from December 2019 to January 2021.

Prior to their roles in the political field, Silvia worked as a Project Manager at Stones' Phones, a Democratic political consulting firm specializing in campaign telephone solutions. In this role from September 2018 to May 2019, they were responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing client projects. Overall, Silvia Ruelas has gained valuable experience in policy, legislative affairs, and project management throughout their career.

Silvia Ruelas completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science with a specialization in International Relations and Affairs at UCLA from 2015 to 2018.
