Anthony Anderson

Head of Data Science at Conjura

Anthony Anderson has over 17 years of experience in data science and analytics. Anthony began their career in 2001 as a Summer Intern at the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, where they developed a code to prescriptively manipulate unstructured tetrahedral meshes for use in finite element calculations. In 2003, they joined UC Irvine as a Research Assistant, where they optimized an adaptive remeshing algorithm to enable efficient and prescriptive manipulation of unstructured tetrahedral meshes for finite element calculations. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Northwestern University, where they developed a mathematical model alongside detailed numerical simulations to understand the kinetics of VLS-grown nanowires. From 2010 to 2013, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cambridge, where they combined experiments and mathematical modeling to interpret a wide range of poorly understood phenomena in freezing colloidal (microscale particle) suspensions. In 2014, they joined Palantir Technologies as a Data Scientist, where they embedded with clients to develop and implement use cases with institutional data to solve core business problems, often with mathematical and algorithmic approaches. In 2017, they joined Eagle Point Partners as an Engagement Manager, where they ran consulting engagements with various clients, especially where there was a need for machine learning and predictive modeling. In 2018, they transitioned to Conjura, where they are now the Head of Data Science and looks after the company's growing list of data science services.

Anthony Anderson obtained their BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2004. Anthony then went on to Northwestern University for a MS in Applied Mathematics, which they completed in 2005. Anthony continued their studies at Northwestern University, and in 2009 they obtained their PhD in Applied Mathematics.
