Ciaran O'Donnell has over 20 years of work experience in software and firmware engineering. Ciaran'smost recent position was as a Senior Firmware Engineer at Connect America, where they worked on porting a fall detection algorithm for a wrist worn alert device. Prior to that, they worked at Philips Lifeline as a Senior Firmware Engineer for two years. Ciaran also worked as a Software Engineer at Oxford Global Resources and Randstad USA, and as an Engineer at Triple Crown Consulting. Ciaran has experience in delivering validated audio development kits and supporting customer requirements at Qualcomm. Ciaran has also held positions as a Senior Software Engineer at CSR and Verayo. Before that, they worked for Joseph Media Tools as a Consulting Software Engineer for nearly ten years. Ciaran's expertise includes improving efficiency and designing instruction set architectures for chips at Quartics, where they were a Senior Design Engineer.

Ciaran O'Donnell completed their education in a chronological order. Ciaran started with a Bachelor of Mathematics (Honours) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, which they pursued from 1973 to 1979.

Afterwards, they attended the University de Paris-6 from 1980 to 1981, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering.

Ciaran then pursued a Ph.D in Computer Science at Télécom Paris from 1992 to 1994.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Ciaran also acquired two certifications. In 2004, they became a Certified Software Development Professional from the IEEE Computer Society. Ciaran also obtained a license as a Professional Electrical Engineer from the Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, State of California in the same year.
