Derrick Morris

Vice President Construction Operations at Connect Homes

Derrick Morris has over 30 years of experience in the homebuilding industry. Derrick began their career in 1988 as a Region Support Manager for John Wieland Homes. In 1997, they became the Principal of RD Morris & Associates. In 2000, they were the General Manager and Vice President of Winston Carlyle. From 2002 to 2005, they were the Director of Building Industry Relations for Habitat for Humanity International. During this time, they also served as the Associate Director for US Campaigns. From 2005 to 2010, they were the Director of Residential Planning at The Cliffs Communities. In 2010, they returned to Habitat for Humanity International as the Director of Construction Technologies. From 2017 to 2018, they were the Vice President of Building Technologies and Innovation for RSI Holding LLC. In 2018, they were the Vice President of Construction - West at AMH Development for American Homes 4 Rent. Most recently, in 2019, they became the Vice President of Operations and Construction for Propel Builders as a consultant. In 2021, they took on the role of Vice President Construction Operations for connect homes.

Derrick Morris attended Georgia Institute of Technology from 1984 to 1986, studying Chemical Engineering. Derrick then transferred to Georgia Southern University, where they completed a BS in Construction Management from 1986 to 1989. In August 2019, they obtained a certification in Persuading Others from LinkedIn.
