H. John Schaeffer has extensive experience in information security and network management, currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Director of Networks, Servers & Security at Connecticut College since April 1996. Responsibilities include overseeing the college's Information Security program and managing day-to-day security operations. Additionally, H. John Schaeffer teaches as adjunct faculty in Intro to Cybersecurity and Computer Networks. Previous roles at Connecticut College include Director of Networks, Systems, & Security and Manager of Networks and Server Operations, where leadership was provided to teams responsible for network and server infrastructure. H. John Schaeffer began the career as a Unix System Administrator and previously worked at Sonalysts, Inc. as a Systems Administrator for a classified network. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Technology Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of New Haven, and an Associate's degree in Computer Technology from CT State Three Rivers.
