Caitlin Boger-Hawkins began their work experience in 1994 as a Research Analyst at Oakland Community College. Caitlin then served as a Senior Research Analyst at the State of Vermont from 1997 to 1998. In 1998, they joined Northwestern Connecticut Community College as the Director of Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness, a role they held until April 2023.

In 2000, they became a Co-Chair at Andrus Family Fund and later served on their Board of Directors until 2006. From 2015 onwards, Caitlin has been involved with Surdna Foundation, where they held various roles including Board Chair and Vice Chair.

Later, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan, graduating from 1994 to 1997.
