Eric Schmidt has a diverse work experience in the banking and finance sector. Eric started their career as a Personnel Specialist in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 1994. Eric then transitioned to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as a Risk Analyst from 2009 to 2011. In 2011, they joined FirstCity Bank of Commerce as a Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer, a position they held until 2015. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at Anchor Commercial Bank as a Senior Vice President in Commercial Lending. Eric then joined OptimumBank as a Senior Vice President and Chief Credit Officer from 2018 to 2022, and later transitioned to the role of Senior Vice President in Commercial Lending until 2022. Currently, they are employed as a Senior Vice President in Commercial Lending at ConnectOne Bank, starting in 2022.
Eric Schmidt attended Indian River State College from 1994 to 1995, where they earned an Associate's degree in Accounting and Finance. Eric then went on to study at Florida Atlantic University from 1995 to 1997, completing their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting and Finance. In 2005, Eric attended the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where they graduated with a degree from the Florida Bankers Association in Banking in 2007.
