Hai Bei Chen's work experience spans several companies and roles. In 2010, they worked as a Media Manager at PHD Media before moving on to become a Media Planner at VisitEngland in 2011. From 2012 to 2015, Hai Bei Chen worked at BT, first as a Media Manager, and later as a Senior Media Manager. In 2016, they joined The AA as a Senior Marketing Strategy and Planning Manager, where they played a critical role in guiding marketing efforts across multiple profit and loss statements. After leaving The AA in 2017, Hai Bei Chen joined Virgin Holidays as the Head of Brand, Campaigns & Trading Marketing, leading various marketing functions and supporting global restructuring efforts. In 2019, they were promoted to the role of Head of Brand Strategy & Campaigns for both Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays. In 2020, Hai Bei Chen became a self-employed Brand and Marketing Consultant, leading rebranding projects for sustainable toy brand Capikooa and life insurance brand Beagle Street. In 2021, they took time off for maternity leave and then briefly worked as the Director of Brand and Marcomms at PizzaExpress before joining Connexin in 2023 as the Vice President of Brand and Marketing.

Hai Bei Chen began their education by completing a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Linguistics at the University of York from 2002 to 2005. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in English Literature at the University of Warwick, which took place from 2005 to 2006. Later on, in 2013 and 2014, Hai Bei Chen attended the CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing to earn a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. In the year 2019, they briefly attended The Marketing Academy as a Scholar.
