Arto Bendiken

Arto Bendiken has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Arto began their career in 1997 as a Senior Software Consultant at Arto Bendiken, where they specialized in C/C++, Go, OCaml, and Rust. Arto worked as a toolsmith for hire until 2020.

In 2005, Arto Bendiken joined MakaluMedia GmbH as a Senior Software Engineer, working on projects for the European Space Agency and the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. Arto stayed with the company until 2010.

In 2009, Arto Bendiken became a Principal Cofounder and principal engineer at Datagraph, Inc. This semantic technology startup developed Dydra, a versioned and content-addressable graph database delivered as a cloud service. Arto raised $100K in seed funding and worked with the company until 2016.

In 2020, Arto Bendiken joined NEAR Protocol as a Technical Lead, where they worked until 2021.

Following their role at NEAR Protocol, in 2021 Arto Bendiken joined Aurora Labs as the Chief Technology Officer. Arto raised $12M in Series A funding and held this position until 2023.

Currently, Arto Bendiken is the Chief Executive Officer of Conreality, a company focused on developing a platform for live-action AR wargames and drone swarm control. Arto has already raised more than $500K in pre-seed funding and continues to lead the company.

Arto Bendiken attended The Open University, where they studied Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy. Arto obtained several certifications from Coursera, including Introduction to Software Product Management in September 2018, Compilers in June 2014, Computer Networks in March 2014, Heterogeneous Parallel Programming in March 2014, Human Evolution: Past and Future in March 2014, and Linear Algebra in March 2014.
