Alastair McKinlay is an experienced professional specializing in youth engagement, project management, and community development. Currently serving as a Senior Project Officer at The Conservation Volunteers, Alastair leads the ‘Urban Forest Community Volunteers’ initiative aimed at enhancing the management of London’s woodland spaces. Previously, Alastair held various leadership roles within Croydon Council, including Youth Engagement Leader and Youth Services Coordinator (Acting), focusing on delivering youth hubs and programs for health, arts, and wellbeing. Alastair is also the founder of Croydon Saffron Central, promoting community engagement through urban gardening. With a background in broadcasting as a radio presenter for Croydon Radio, Alastair has also managed youth programs targeting at-risk young people at Sova. Alastair holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Geography with Urban Studies from the University of Worcester.
