Laurel Sockwell, SHRM-SCP

Laurel Sockwell, SHRM-SCP has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources. Laurel began their career in 1992 at American Capital Management & Research (Van Kampen Investments) as a Human Resources Benefits Coordinator. In 1995, they moved to VALIC (a division of American General) as a Human Resources Generalist. In 1996, they were hired as a Human Resources Manager at Holt, Rinehart and Winston (a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt). In 2007, they returned to ValentineHR as a Senior Human Resources Consultant and held that role until 2018. In 2020, they were promoted to Human Resources Director and then Human Resources Manager at CONSUELA.

Laurel Sockwell obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to that, they attended Westlake High School. In 2021, they were certified as a Competency-Based Selection Interviewing Specialist from the Institute Of Human Resource Management. In 2020, they were certified as a SHRM - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from SHRM.
