April Crisp has extensive work experience in the legal and compliance field. April started their career in 2012 as a Corporate Law Clerk at Consumer Portfolio Services, where they gained valuable experience in corporate legal matters. In 2013, they were promoted to the role of Assistant Vice President / Corporate Counsel, where they focused on dealer compliance, credit reporting, and litigation management. In 2016, they were appointed as the Vice President of Legal, providing strategic counsel on compliance, regulatory, employment, and litigation matters. April also handled state and federal regulatory examinations and implemented a complaint program. In 2023, April was promoted to Senior Vice President of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, a role they currently hold. Besides their work at Consumer Portfolio Services, April also had an externship at Orange County District Attorney's Target Unit from January to May 2012.

April Crisp has a comprehensive education history. From 2010 to 2013, they attended Chapman University, School of Law, where they obtained a JD degree with a focus on Business Law. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2007, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Literacy from Corban University. In 2006, they participated in a program called Portantorchas which focused on Spanish language study. Additionally, in 2004 and 2005, they attended the Oregon Summer Institute of Linguistics.

In terms of certifications, April has obtained several. In 2019, they became a Credit and Collection Compliance Attorney certified by ACA International, the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals. In 2014, they gained the certification of Certified Consumer Credit Compliance Professional from the National Automotive Finance Association. Moreover, in 2022, they became In-House Counsel Certified (ICC) from the Association of Corporate Counsel. April has also acquired further certifications, such as CDIA FCRA Data Furnisher Requirements from the Consumer Data Industry Association, and Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPPUS) from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals.
