Charles Bevington is a seasoned health scientist with extensive experience in toxicology and risk assessment. Currently serving as the Health Scientist and Chemical Hazards Program Manager at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission since May 2019, Charles leads chemical-hazard projects within the Toxicology and Risk Assessment Division. Prior to this role, Charles worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from September 2006 to May 2019 as a Physical Scientist and Exposure Assessor in the Risk Assessment Division, and also served as an Environmental Protection Specialist focusing on program evaluation. Charles began their career as an Eastern Region Planning Intern at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, contributing to land use planning and GIS mapping. Academic credentials include a Master of Public Health in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University, and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Environmental Science and Policy and Geography from the University of Maryland.
