John Mitchell

John Mitchell currently serves as the Director of Legislative Affairs and Senior Advisor at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, a position held since 2023. Prior to this role, John Mitchell worked at the Senate Republican Policy Committee from 2009 to 2023 as Editorial Director. John Mitchell's experience also includes serving as a Speechwriter at the U.S. Department of Justice from 2006 to 2009 and as Deputy Director of Reporting and Research at Reader's Digest Magazine from 1989 to 2006. John Mitchell obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from William & Mary, where studies were completed from 1985 to 1989.
