Vaughan Robinson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Vaughan started their career as an Operator at Fletcher Challenge Energy Taranaki in 1999 and later joined Shell Todd Oil Services as a Panel Operator in 2002. At Shell Todd Oil Services, they also worked as an I/E Engineer from 2003 to 2006.

In 2006, Vaughan joined Todd Energy where they held various roles including Operation Support Engineer, Senior Instrument Electrical Engineer (Technical Authority), Lead Instrument Control Electrical Engineer, Lead Instrument Electrical Engineer, ICE Reliability Engineer, ICE Project Engineer, and Plant Project Engineer/Manager. Vaughan'stenure at Todd Energy lasted until April 2023.

Most recently, Vaughan joined Contact Energy Ltd as a Principal Engineer - Control and Instrumentation in April 2023.

Throughout their career, Vaughan has gained extensive experience and expertise in control and instrumentation engineering, project management, reliability engineering, and technical authority roles.

Vaughan Robinson obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Engineering and Automation from Massey University, which was completed from 1995 to 1999. In 2013, they acquired the FS Engineer certification in Functional Safety IEC61511 from TUV Rheinland. Additionally, Vaughan obtained the FS Eng certification from the United Latino Students Association in August 2013.
