Dr. Gowtham Chowdary Kankanala has extensive work experience in the field of orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Gowtham Chowdary is currently the Director of DNB & Post Graduate Education in Orthopaedic Surgery at Continental Hospitals. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery at the same hospital.

Before joining Continental Hospitals, Dr. Kankanala served as the Director and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Indo-British Hospital from 2017 to 2022. Dr. Gowtham Chowdary also gained valuable experience as an Ilizarov Fellow at Bari-Ilizarov Orthopaedic Centre and the Ilizarov Scientific Centre.

Dr. Gowtham Chowdary Kankanala has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from BLDEA's Shri BM Patil Medical College and Hospital, Bijapur, which they completed from 1992 to 1997. Dr. Gowtham Chowdary then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Orthopedic Surgery at the same institution from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Kankanala furthered their education by completing a Mch Orthopaedic Surgery degree from the University of Dundee in 2004-2005. Dr. Gowtham Chowdary also attained the MRCS (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons) qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2008 and from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2015. Dr. Gowtham Chowdary achieved the prestigious FEBOT (Fellow of European Board of Orthopaedics & Traumatology) from The European Board of Orthopaedics & Traumatology in 2016.
