Helgi Fridriksson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Helgi began their career in 2004 with Fjardabyggd municipality, where they managed projects involving the expansion of schools and the construction of a district heating system. In 2006 and 2007, Helgi worked as an engineer at Mannvit, primarily focusing on designing petrol stations.

In 2014, Helgi joined Lund University as a researcher, specializing in computational fluid dynamics analysis for diesel engines. Helgi collaborated with major companies in the automotive industry to improve engine efficiency and performance.

From 2014 to 2018, Helgi worked at Marorka, where they served as a Data Scientist and Product Owner. Helgi developed statistical models to optimize energy management for large vessels and led a team responsible for building a cloud-based data processing platform.

At Meniga from 2018 to 2020, Helgi held roles as an Experience Designer, Product Expert, and Chief Experience Designer. Helgi worked closely with international banks to integrate Meniga's digital banking platform and deliver personalized financial experiences to customers.

Starting in 2020, Helgi joined NOVA Iceland, initially as a Data Specialist responsible for managing an event-driven framework and later as "Dr. Data," a role that involved various data-related responsibilities.

Presently, Helgi is serving as the Director of Data Architecture at Controlant, where they lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data architecture and collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align the platform with customer needs.

Helgi Fridriksson completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Háskóli Íslands from 2001 to 2004. Helgi then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University from 2006 to 2008. Finally, Helgi obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lund University between 2008 and 2013.
