Ric Featherstone

Ric Featherstone has a diverse work experience in various companies, primarily focusing on engineering, consulting, and architecture roles. Ric is currently working as the Head of Engineering at ControlPlane since June 2022. Prior to this, Ric worked as a Cloud Native Engineer at ControlPlane from March 2021 to June 2022. Ric also served as an OpenShift/Cloud Consultant at ControlPlane from June 2020 to March 2021.

Before joining ControlPlane, Ric held the position of DevOps Consultant at Virgin Money Giving from June 2019 to February 2020. Ric also worked as an OpenShift/Infrastructure Engineer at Nationwide Building Society from January 2019 to June 2019.

Earlier in their career, Ric had roles such as Linux/Cloud Engineer at Virgin Money from March 2018 to December 2018, OpenShift Consultant at Red Hat UK from October 2017 to January 2018, and Linux/Cloud Automation Engineer at Aviva from May 2016 to June 2017.

Ric Featherstone completed their education from 1998 to 2002 at the University of East Anglia, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) 2:1 degree in Computer Systems Engineering. In addition to their formal education, Ric has obtained various certifications throughout their career. Ric obtained the TOGAF 9 Certified certification from The Open Group in October 2011. In August 2010, they obtained the Certified Solution Developer - Web Services Development for WebSphere Application Server V7.0 certification from IBM. In February 2010, they obtained the Certified SOA Solution Designer certification, also from IBM. Ric further acquired the Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere Message Broker V6.0 certification from IBM in December 2008. Ric also obtained the Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances Firmware V3.6.1 certification in November 2008, and the Certified Solution Developer - XML 1.1 and Related Technologies certification in September 2008, both from IBM. Additionally, Ric holds the certification of Certified Associate BPM Developer - WebSphere Lombardi Edition V7.2 from IBM, however, the dates of when they obtained this certification are not provided. Moreover, they have also achieved the certification of Certified BPM Developer - WebSphere Lombardi Edition V7.2 from IBM, but the specific dates of when they obtained it are not provided as well. Ric's most recent certification is as a Speaker at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2022, which they obtained from The Linux Foundation in May 2022.
