Sebastián Villaveces is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in corporate and financial transactions, particularly in Latin America. Currently serving as Chief Development Officer and General Counsel at Convergent Energy and Power since June 2021, Sebastián has previously held senior leadership roles at Vinson & Elkins and Herbert Smith Freehills, as well as in-house positions at New Fortress Energy and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Early career experience includes a Tax Associate role at Posse, Herrera & Ruiz and a Legislative Advisor position at the Ministerio de Hacienda y Credito Publico in Colombia. Education includes an LL.M from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, a Business Administration Certificate from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, and an Abogado degree from Universidad de Los Andes, along with an exchange program at Paris II - Panthéon - Assas.
