Conversant Group is an IT infrastructure and security consulting company founded in 2009 and based in Chattanooga, TN. We are the world’s first Civilian Cybersecurity Force, dedicated to defeating cyber terrorists. To do so, Conversant Group is organized into three battalions: Athena7 which provides infrastructure assessment, strategy and remediation, Grypho5 which offers ongoing managed protection, and Fenix24 which provides rapid restoration in case of a cyberattack.

About this position

The IT Purchasing and Logistics Specialist works closely with representatives from Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, and Managed Services in support of Conversant Group's clients. In this position, you will place, track, and receive high revenue IT product orders, working closely with our vendors and distributors to track physical and virtual products to their destination, and document all materials in our knowledge base. Further, you will be responsible for scheduling and physically receiving all incoming and outgoing shipments at HQ, providing frequent progress updates to various stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a shipment.

This position sits on-site at Corporate HQ in Chattanooga, TN, reports to the Sales Operations Manager, and is a part of the Sales Team. Due to the variability associated with freight carrier deliveries and pickups, expected working hours are 8:30am to 6:00pm ET.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate efficient and accurate processing of equipment and related software orders in accordance with clean booking operational guidelines
  • Ensure receipt of electronic deliverables, service contract/warranty paperwork, and renewal confirmations
  • Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments at HQ and nearby data center with freight companies
  • Perform quality control: Initiate, accept, verify, inspect, and record all deliveries at HQ and nearby data center
  • Identify and rectify serious vendor problems relating to the ordering and functioning of equipment and software
  • Create, analyze, and distribute order reports, monitoring open and in-fulfillment orders, deliveries, shipments, and returns
  • Manage inventory organization within storage areas, including placing items in correct locations, maintaining an organized layout, conducting inventory checks, and updating digital records
  • Responding to all internal inquiries regarding the procurement of new desktop/server equipment and software, such as PC’s and SaaS licensing
  • Advise on enhancements to existing processes as business scales
  • Handle exceptions in the order to cash process
  • Deliver enablement and training on order-to-cash and clean booking best practices
  • Additional requirements as the job function evolves

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a finance, purchasing, procurement, deal desk, sales operations, or related role
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, pricing strategies, and contract management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in using CRM and PSA systems (e.g., Salesforce, ConnectWise)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, and Services
  • Experience interfacing with clients regarding timely communication
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Knowledge of IT and Cybersecurity services is a plus
  • Must be able to lift 25+ pound packages
  • Must have a driver’s license and vehicle for travel to data center or freight carrier
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to drive process improvements and adapt to changing business needs
