Dr. Nikeshia Jackson Gilliam is the Human Resources Director for Converse College, with more than 15 years of professional experience. Her repertoire includes work in management and leadership in various industries including Hospitality, Higher Education, Retail, Sales, and (K-12 District Office). She has previously worked as a Director of Human Resources for the Spartanburg Marriot; Human Resources and Operations Manager for Belk; and the Employees Relations Manager for Charleston County School District. In addition to her professional experiences, Dr. Gilliam is affiliated with the following organizations: Spartanburg County Human Resource Association, Society of Human Resources Association, Tri-County Human Resource Association, Greenville Human Resource Association, CUPA- HR, IACLEA, SCICU, and Higher Education Recruitment Consortium of the Carolinas.

Dr. Gilliam holds a Doctor of Education from AU. Prior to obtaining her doctoral degree, she earned her Masters of Arts in Human Resource Development from Webster University-Greenville Campus. To add to her academic accomplishments, Dr. Gilliam also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Converse College in Human Relations. She is a certified Global Career Facilitator and Microsoft Specialist.

Dr. Gilliam is a native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. She is married to Steven Gilliam, Owner of SLG Trucking LLC. She has two stepsons and one daughter, Lindsay.

Dr. Gilliam's passion is to lead, serve, and assist. She believes that every opportunity is an assignment from God, and she is grateful for them. According to Dr. Gilliam: "similar to the development of a butterfly, we cannot transition from one stage to another without the pressing" (Jekalyn Carr).
