Richard Ward

Richard Ward has extensive experience in the contact lens and materials science sectors, with a career spanning several decades. Since November 1997, Ward has served as the Director of Technology Transfer at CooperVision, focusing on product and process transfers as well as global harmonisation since 2005. Prior roles include Subject Matter Expert at BSI, where involvement in key working groups for contact lens standards took place from July 2016 to November 2021, and R&D Manager at Aspect Visioncare, responsible for product development and regulatory compliance from November 1997 to April 2005. Before these positions, Ward held roles such as Senior Scientist at Hydron and Project Engineer at Pilkington Barnes Hind Ltd, concentrating on material science and project management. Early career experience includes a position as Production Manager at CooperVision. Educational qualifications include a BSc in Materials Science & Technology from Brunel University and a Higher Diploma in Chemical Engineering from South Bank Polytechnic.
