Samir M. Suleymanov

Samir M. Suleymanov is an experienced leader in climate finance and strategic initiatives, currently serving as Senior Advisor at S3 Global and Chairman at Join The Planet. Since March 2023, Samir has been the Head of Climate Finance for COP28 UAE and has held the position of Chairman at For Azerbaijan since December 2020. Previously, Samir acted as Strategy Advisor to the Managing Director at the International Monetary Fund, focusing on digital money, payments strategy, and climate change policies. Samir's extensive tenure at the World Bank Group spanned over a decade, where roles included Deputy CEO and Director for Corporate Strategy, and involved significant contributions to corporate governance and development agendas. Samir holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Georgetown University and an MBA in International Business from The George Washington University.
