Dan Kratt

Dan Kratt has been working in the tech industry since 2004. Dan began their career as an unpaid intern at Orbital Media, where they quickly demonstrated value in the form of product ownership. Dan then became Co-Project Lead on a Gameboy Advance game called Scurge: Hive, and their work included product ownership, game design, level design, encounter design and technical art design.

In 2005, Orbital Media dissolved and became GamesCafe, where Kratt lead the production of a number of “casual” games including the global hits Sally’s Salon and Sally’s Spa. Their work included product ownership and game design.

In 2009, Kratt moved to Ph03nix New Media where they lead the production of a number of mobile games. Their work included product ownership, game design, visual design and direction as well as sound editing.

In 2012, Kratt returned to GamesCafe to head up their first foray into asynchronous multiplayer games. WordStars was released in February 2013, and their work included product ownership, game design, UI, particle effects and sound editing.

In 2013, Kratt joined Robots and Pencils, where they worked with amazing people and clients from many different industries all over the world. Dan was SVP Culture + Director of FunLabs Innovation and Principal Creative + Director of FunLabs Innovation, and their work included product ownership, UI / UX design and direction, information architecture and prototyping.

Kratt is currently Chief Product Officer at Copia Wealth Studios, a position they have held since 2021.

Dan Kratt attended the University of Regina from 1999 to 2000, studying Fine and Studio Arts. Dan then attended Alberta University of the Arts from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Media Arts and Digital Technologies. In 2017, they obtained a certification from Udemy for Sketch 3 from A to Z: Become an App Designer.
