Chouaib MEZIADI

Chouaib MEZIADI has a diverse work experience in the fields of plant biotechnology, molecular biology, and agricultural research. Chouaib is currently the General Manager and Chief Scientific Officer at Core Biogenesis, where they specialize in the bio-production of recombinant proteins in plants for pharmaceutical and industrial use. Chouaib has developed an eco-friendly and GMP compliant platform that optimizes production processes and reduces costs.

Prior to their current role, Chouaib worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the INRA French National Institute for Agricultural Research. During this time, they focused on understanding the epigenetic defense mechanism of RNA interference (RNAi) and its implications in gene regulation.

Before that, Chouaib was a PhD student at Université Paris-Saclay, where they studied plant-virus interactions, specifically the molecular dialog between common bean and Bean pod mottle virus (BPMV). Chouaib investigated both plant resistance and virus virulence factors.

Chouaib also gained experience as a Trainee at Université Paris-Sud, working on improving agronomic traits in peas, and at IRD, where they focused on agricultural research.

Prior to that, they obtained a License in International Economics from the University of Montpellier in 2012. In 2012-2013, they pursued a Master 2 degree in Molecular Plant Biology at the Université de Bourgogne. Before that, they obtained a Maîtrise in Integrative Plant Biology from the Université de Poitiers in 2011. Chouaib started their post-secondary education journey at the Université Mentouri de Constantine, where they completed their Master 2 degree in Biotechnology from 2008 to 2010 and obtained a License in Biology in 2008.
