Monica Mason, CCRMP, ARe has extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on catastrophe risk management and analytics. Monica currently holds the position of Head of Property Analytics SVP at Core Specialty Insurance Holdings, Inc., where they collaborate with various departments to maintain a profitable property E&S book of business by utilizing data assets to deliver insights through online dashboards.
Prior to their current role, Monica has held several positions that have equipped their with a diverse skill set. As the Education Committee Chair & Board Member at the International Society of Catastrophe Managers (ISCM), they contributed to the development of industry practitioners through webinars and panel discussions. Monica also served as a Division Committee Member for the Gulf Research Program at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, focusing on catastrophe risk management and science to action in the Gulf region.
Monica's experience at BMS Group as a Consultant and at TransRe as the Senior Vice President, Global Head of Catastrophe Risk Analytics allowed their to display their leadership skills and expertise in catastrophe modeling and analytics. Monica led teams, managed pricing and portfolio management, and provided thought leadership on methodologies for quantifying catastrophe risk.
During their tenure at RMS, Monica served as both the Senior Director and the Head of Account Management. Monica played a vital role in expanding client relationships, supporting clients in implementing RMS technology and science, and managing a team of account managers.
Monica's career also includes positions at Talbot Underwriting, where they served as the Head of Catastrophe Modeling, and Validus Re, where they were the AVP and Senior Catastrophe Modeler. At both companies, they contributed to the expansion of modeling services and successfully managed deal flow and cedant analytics.
Monica's career began at Willis Re Inc. as a Catastrophe Analyst, where they quickly progressed to the role of Assistant Vice President. Monica leveraged analytical solutions to assess and communicate catastrophe risk to clients and brokers.
Lastly, Monica started their professional journey at Deloitte Consulting as a Business Analyst.
Monica Mason holds a B.A. degree in Mathematics and Economics from Macalester College. Monica also possesses additional certifications, including Statistics Foundations: 2, Project Management Foundations, Tableau Essential Training, Associate of Reinsurance (ARe), Certified Catastrophe Risk Management Professional (CCRMP), and Certified Extreme Events Modeler (CEEM).
