Don Zehnder is Coreshell’s Senior Staff Scientist where he leads Coreshell’s particle coating research and R&D process development. Don comes to Coreshell with 20+ years of experience working as a chemist and engineer for several renowned Bay Area nanotechnology and greentech startups. Prior to Coreshell, Don was a senior scientist at Nanosys where he developed electroluminescent quantum dot technology for next-generation displays. Before Nanosys, Don spent six years at Sivapower where he developed nanoparticle synthesis and pilot scale roll-to-roll film processing. At Sivapower, Don achieved a new world record for thin film solar cell efficiency. Before this, Don was a lead process engineer at Quantumscape where he worked on ForgeNano’s fluidized-bed ALD cathode particle coater. Earlier in his career, Don held senior scientist roles at Quantum Dot Corporation and Chiron Corporation.
Don holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis.
