CORESIGHT RESEARCH: 
The Coresight Research team, based in New York, London, Hong Kong, and India is a think tank that follows emerging retail and tech trends, specializing in the ways retail and technology intersect, and builds collaborative communities.  The team, led by Deborah Weinswig, an award-winning retail and technology analyst, delivers cutting-edge research on topics such as the evolving retail landscape, changing consumer behavior, disruptive retail technologies and the future of supply chains in sectors such as apparel, beauty, grocery and furniture. POSITION OVERVIEW 
Based in Mangalore and reporting into the Head of India, the Data Executive will undertake data projects in specific areas, conduct research, collect data and compile it, and derive insights as necessary. He or she will support analysts and associates, and undertake work in his or her own right. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Use databases and the Internet to conduct research and collect data according to requirements outlined by manager.

  • Maintain data in an organized manner according to project requirements.

  • Present data in a range of formats (charts, tables, text, etc) in Word, Excel, Powerpoint or as specified by manager.

  • Regularly check for updates to existing datasets and update them.

  • Deliver projects/updates within the turnaround time stated by manager.

  • Work on ad hoc data projects

  • Data research, retrieval, maintenance and calculation with a focus on real estate data, such as retail store openings and closures, store locations and store numbers.

  • Calculate, estimate and model data from available data sets; review and validate (confirming) data from colleagues.

  • Write templated data-focused reports for publication.

  • Work with a wide range of sources, such as company reports, databases, consumer surveys, media reports, public data sources (such as statistical offices).

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Master’s degree (business, economics, finance, or other quantitative disciplines)

  • 1-4 years of experience in business research/data collection

  • Strong analytical skills (preferably in financial modeling, market growth rates, market shares, etc.)

  • Strong writing and oral communication skills

  • Knowledge of retail or technology market

  • Extremely detail-oriented/ self-motivated/strong time management skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Knowledge of other applications and finance database would be a plus)

  • Ability to work with team members located in different time zones

  • Desirable:
    Knowledge of retail or technology market 
    Familiarity with either of the following would be an advantage: financial research databases (such as S&P Capital IQ) and company data; real estate data

  • Strong Excel skills would be an advantage
