Kirstin Hagelskjær Petersen

Kirstin Hagelskjær Petersen is an Associate Professor at Cornell University since August 2016, having previously held the position of Assistant Professor. Prior experience includes postdoctoral fellowships at the Max Planck ETH Center for Learning Systems and the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, focusing on novel actuator methodologies for bio-inspired soft robots. Kirstin also served as an Academic Fellow at Harvard School of Engineering, where design and manufacturing of robot platforms for the Self-Organizing Systems Research Group were conducted. Earlier roles include scientific research assistance at the Maersk Institute at the University of Southern Denmark and freelance electro-technical engineering. Kirstin earned a Ph.D. in Robotics and Computer Science from Harvard University and holds a Master's Degree in Modern Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southern Denmark, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrotechnical Engineering.
