Lourdes Casanova is a Senior Lecturer and the Gail and Rob Cañizares Director of the Emerging Markets Institute at Cornell University, having been with the institution since July 2012. In addition to directing the Emerging Markets Institute since 2015 and serving as Chair on the Academic Standards Committee at the Johnson Graduate School of Management from 2015 to 2020, Lourdes is actively involved with the World Economic Forum as a member of the Steering Committee on Competitiveness and the Global Agenda Council on Latin America. Lourdes has also held visiting faculty positions at prestigious institutions including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University of Zurich, and INSEAD, where Lourdes taught courses related to emerging multinationals and served as Director of Executive Education Programs. With a Ph.D. from Universitat de Barcelona and Master's degrees in Sociolinguistics from the University of Southern California and University of Amsterdam, Lourdes's scholarship emphasizes innovation in emerging markets.
