Margaret Weigers Vitullo, PhD CAE, currently serves as the Executive Director of the Linguistic Society of America since January 2023. Vitullo has been the Organizational Representative to the Coalition on Science and Human Rights for AAAS since 2010. Previously, Vitullo held the position of Deputy Director at the American Sociological Association from March 2018 to January 2023 and was the Director of the Academic and Professional Affairs Program there from 2007 to 2017, where responsibilities included planning and administration for teaching and professional development programs. At Gallaudet University, Vitullo acted as Chairperson and Associate Professor from 1996 to 2007, overseeing department operations and teaching in American Sign Language. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research Associate at the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research, focusing on health disparities. Vitullo earned a PhD in Sociology from the University of Michigan and completed post-doctoral work there, as well as a Bachelor's degree from Rice University in Sociology and Managerial Studies.
