Kara Wiersma

Kara Wiersma, CPTD, has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Kara currently serves as the Vice President, Learning & Development Business Partner at Cornerstone Bank since May 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President, Colleague Engagement and Development at Fidelity Cooperative Bank from April 2022 to May 2023. Kara also worked as the Vice President, Learning & Development Manager at Fidelity Cooperative Bank from April 2018 to April 2022. Before joining Fidelity, they worked as the Retail Training Onboarding and Development Manager at Commerce Bank & Trust Company from November 2015 to April 2018. From January 2010 to October 2015, they served as the AVP, Area Relationship Manager at United Bank. Their earliest work experience in the banking industry was as an Assistant Branch Manager at Commonwealth National Bank from May 2006 to January 2010, and prior to that, they worked as a Personal Banker at the same bank from May 2003 to May 2006.

Kara Wiersma, CPTD, graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting and Finance, from Worcester State College in 2007. Kara Wiersma also holds several certifications, including the Certified Professional in Talent Development from ATD CI - The ATD Certification Institute, the Korn Ferry Leadership Architect from Korn Ferry, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education, and the Predictive Index Practitioner from The Predictive Index.
